Garmin Forerunner 10, for runners who like to keep it simple
Garmin has announced the Garmin Forerunner 10, a new model of GPS sports watch designed to keep everything simple.
Garmin say the watch is pitched at all levels of runners, but the important thing about the Forerunner 10 is that it keeps stats to a minimum. Rather than overwhelming you with data, the baby Forerunner just wants to feed you the essentials.
Those essentials are speed and distance, calories burnt, and highlighting your personal records. You'll be able to upload your runs to Garmin Connect, naturally, once you're back at your computer.
There is also a virtual trainer function that will let you know whether you are faster or slower than your target pace, and a special function to support those using a run-walk training programme.
The Garmin Forerunner 10 comes in green and pink, or the slightly larger (and perhaps more masculine) black with red accents.
With sports GPS watches often being bulky, expensive and complicated, the Forerunner 10 looks like an ideal model for those fitness fans who want to break a sweat, but don't want to break the bank.
The Garmin Forerunner 10 will cost you £99 and will be available from September.
