It's what the rumour-mongers have been calling it, but now it seems Apple will follow suit and brand its smaller iPad the iPad Mini.
According to Apple blog site Macotakara, an iPad insider has told it that the yet to be unveiled tablet will keep its adopted moniker with the traditional iPad logo emblazoned on the back of the device.
The iPad Mini is expected to house a seven-inch display, putting it in direct competition against the likes of the Google Nexus 7. An iPad Mini would be Apple’s fourth-generation tablet device, but the first to feature a display that measure less than 9.7-inches.
Though Apple is yet officially to confirm the existence of the iPad Mini, speculation has been mounting that the Cupertino outfit will wait until October to unveil the device, with the arrival of the iPhone 5 expected on 12 September before being rolled out on 21 September.
