Sony is to launch a Windows 8 tablet called the Sony Vaio Duo 11, according to the latest leaked images that have appeared on the internet.

The images - leaked to Pocketnow.com - show that the new laptop come tablet device will match Microsoft's own Surface offering and Samsung's teased Windows 8 tablet by coming with a foldaway keyboard.

According to the site The "Duo" stands for the two different usage types and the 11 for an 11-inch screen. The pictures also show that the Duo 11 will have a stylus for handwriting as well as being able to use your finger with the Windows 8 UI.

On closer inspection the official-looking press shots show that the device will have a foldaway rather than detachable keyboard and be aimed at the Windows 8 rather than Window RT crowd.

No further details can be gleamed from the images, although with IFA, the European electronic tradeshow, in Berlin this week, we might see more details very shortly.

Pocket-lint will be covering the show from Germany and bringing you all the latest news as it happens.

We will keep you posted.
