Announced in January at CES, where Pocket-lint first encountered the range, Fujifilm's FinePix S4200 and SL240 bridge cameras have now been released in the UK for £149 and £199 respectively.
As with many bridge cameras, Fujfilm has pitched the two models towards the amateur photographer who, perhaps, wants to step up from a compact but without the expense of a full DSLR. And with both using Fujinon 24x optical zoom lenses, each with with 24mm wide angle function, they can get a wide variety of different results without interchangeable glass.
Both of the new cameras come with a 14-megapixel sensor, along with a 3-inch LCD screen and electronic viewfinder, and can shoot 720p HD video.
Where they differ is that the SL240 has a rechargeable lithium battery that can take up to 300 shots on one charge, while the S4200 takes AA batteries.
Available now, the Fujifilm FinePix S4200 and SL240 bridge cameras come in red, black and white.
