Dutch manufacturer Transcend has added a 16GB memory card to its line-up of SecureDigital High Capacity (SDHC) devices.

The Class 6 card is the largest capacity card to date from the Rotterdam-based manufacturer.

It offers a guaranteed minimum writing speed of 6Mbps and has enough memory to store around 8000 7-megapixel images.

You could also opt to store your entire music or picture collection, thousands of video clips, or even complete full-length high quality movies on the card.

The 16GB SDHC card offers additional features including a mechanical write protection switch to protect data from accidental deletion or over-writing.

And, alike all of the models in Transcend’s SDHC Class 6 series, this new card also features ECC (Error Correcting Code) to automatically detect and correct errors during data transfer, preventing data corruption and missing files.

The card, which is priced 139 Euros (around £100), comes with a lifetime warranty.
