Apple is said to be in negotiations about buying The Fancy, as the Cupertino company looks for new ways to entice its iTunes customers into spending money at other e-tailers. For a cut, of course.
The Fancy is an app that is similar to Pinterest in that it allows users to post and comment on items, locations or objects that they find interesting. However, unlike Pinterest, The Fancy also provides a means of purchasing said items should they really take your…well, fancy.
Discussions between Apple and The Fancy are said to be at an early stage and there’s been no leak of what sort of money is being talked about.
However, after a recent meeting between the two companies, Apple CEO Tim Cook is said to have set up an account with The Fancy. This is telling in itself, as Cook notoriously shies away from social networking sites.
