New James Bond Skyfall trailer reveals hand recognition Walther PPK (video)

A new extended trailer of Daniel Craig’s next outing as James Bond has surfaced and we’re even given a snippet of some of the new toys 007 will be using on behalf of Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Skyfall will see us introduced to a new Q, played by Ben Whishaw - most recently seen as Richard II in the BBC's The Hollow Crown - who we see handing Bond a Walther PPK/S 9mm short. But this is no run-of-the-mill firearm: James Bond is the only one who can use the gun on account of it being coded to his palm prints.

The trailer also sees M, played again by Dame Judi Dench, chastised for losing a drive containing the names of every agent embedded in a terrorist organisation throughout the world.

Whether this was on account of M carelessly leaving it on the number 207 bus we don’t know, but it does end up on YouTube, naturally.

Skyfall is due for general release at cinemas across the UK from 26 October.
