It’s probably safe to say that the 30th Olympiad will be the most digital so far. If you’ve been following Twitter you might not have even bothered turning on your telly yet. It's also likely to be the most photographed Games to date. And that’s probably just for what’s happening in Horse Guards Parade until midnight every night.

But skimpy uniforms aside, if you’re looking for a pictorial record of the London 2012 Games, then the Guardian Sports pages are doing a fine job. Its live picture blog will give you a moment-by-moment rolling gallery of the latest great sporting pictures from the various venues around London.

Putting politics aside, the Guardian is one newspaper title that has really got it right with its digital strategy, with affordable and innovative apps, on multiple platforms, and a regular stream of high-quality, thought-provoking and in this case good-looking content.

So if all you want to do is sit back and watch the Games unfold in glorious colour images, then this is a good place to spend some time.
