Foxconn is reported to have begun receiving LCD TV panels at its manufacturing plant as it steps up its process in creating an Apple HDTV.
According to reports, the Chinese manufacturer, who has been involved in the production of both the iPhone and iPad, is aiming to have the televisions available before the end of the year in order to take advantage of the Christmas holiday.
Chinese news site 21.cbh.com claims Sharp is the company behind the LCD TV panels that Foxconn is taking delivery of. Foxconn actually purchased a 10 percent stake of Sharp back in March, with many speculating that both companies were hoping to clamber on board Apple’s expected foray into TV.
Apple has hardly made any secret of their plans to produce a TV set, but rumours of it debuting at WWDC appeared way off the mark. A Christmas arrival however, makes a lot more sense, so perhaps this is one rumour that’s worth keeping an eye on.
When do you think we'll be seeing the Apple HDTV? We want to know.
