Sony Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset wants to play in silence

Sony has announced the launch of the Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset - Elite Edition for gamers looking to play without disturbing the rest of the house.

"Pulse – Elite Edition combines 7.1 virtual surround sound with BassImpact to deliver an unprecedented level of immersion, while sharpening your perception on the battlefield or anywhere else you play," claims Sony on the company's US blog.

According to the PlayStation team, the new headphones offer preset modes to optimise your audio experience for select gaming genres, movies, and music - as well as a noise-cancelling microphone, that should mean your mates will be able to hear your commands clearly when you're shouting expletives down the line at them.

If you are worried that spending $149.99 on a pair of headphones for your console is a bit too much, don't be. The Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset - Elite Edition will work with the PS3, PS Vita, and your mobile phone or MP3 player.

The new headphones are expected to be in the shops for Christmas.
