Nokia has jumped on the "Green" bandwagon and today announced the launch of a "Green" phone at its Nokia World event in Amsterdam that promises to help the Finnish company address environmental issues and drive new initiatives in the mobile industry.

The Nokia 3110 Evolve will be a mobile phone with an emphasis on environmentally friendly components and features a cover made from more than 50% renewable material.

Although no release date was given for the launch of the handset, Nokia say around 60% of the phone will made from recycled content.

The 3110, say Nokia, will also come with Nokia's most energy efficient charger yet, using 94% less energy than the Energy Star requirements to charge the handset.

The Nokia 3110 Evolve is the latest in a series of environmental initiatives from the company.
