HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE coming to Verizon

Just last month Verizon accidentally leaked details of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. Today it’s been announced officially, with full specs that mirror what most of us already knew.

But that’s not to take away from this super-fast smartphone. As well as LTE connectivity there's a spate of “4s” that head up the features too: 4G connectivity (for our US chums, at least); the latest version of HTC Sense 4.0; Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich); and a 4-inch, qHD-resolution LCD screen.

Just a shame that HTC couldn't finish the set with a CPU of the same number of cores. Instead, the Droid has a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and, while powerful, it doesn’t quite match up to some of the other beefier devices on the market today.

There’s also an 8-megapixel camera to the rear that boasts a 28mm f/2.2 equivalent lens and LED flash and Beats Audio is integrated into the device.

As the “4G LTE” name would suggest, however, this Verizon release is slated for customers across the Atlantic in the US-of-A. UK bods will have to hold back and wait for 4G networks to fire up before we get these next-generation speeds.

The phone is due "in the coming weeks", though there's no further information regarding price.
