Shin confirmed in May 2011 that there would be a follow up to the hugely successful Samsung Galaxy S II coming in 2012. LEAKED SLIDE: As these things often begin, this leaked slide back in October 2011 was the first glimpse of what the Samsung Galaxy S III might actually look like. A bit blurry, a bit curvy, it's probably the specs that were of greater importance. CONCEPT 1: Was it a Note? Was it a Galaxy? This concept turned up in a little Samsung promo video at CES 2012. CONCEPT 2: A mock-up created by a Russian designer, this edge-to-edge beauty was actually used on the SGSIII holding page of retail site Handtec. REAL DEAL?: Turning up on Reddit, the poster claimed that this truly is the Samsung Galaxy S III. The 22 May date on the screen might make this a fake given that we're expecting the handset to arrive on 3 May instead. TAKE 2: Very similar to the last supposed leaked shot, the next picture - this time from a source in the Netherlands - begins to make you wonder if the pieces are fitting together. NICE TRY: Too much wrong with this one to go through it all but the fact that the date for the event is not correct, and that there's no mention of Unpacked, outs this one as a fake. Looks nice, though. WORST YET?: Doctored to within an inch of its life, it doesn't take a genius to work this one out. IS THIS IT?: Some video footage from a trusted Vietnamese source and we might be looking the real Samsung Galaxy S III square in the face. CONCEPT 3: Unlikely but pretty. A wavy phone with a foldable screen? Not so sure about those massive media buttons. SPECS: Not a product pic, per se, but the kind of photo that gets Android phone fans hot. Thanks for that one Amazon.de. CONCEPT 4: One beautiful bar of high density, high definition screen. That's basically all we want. COULD IT BE?: There's a lot that looks right on this leak shot from China. Good lines, the home key, the virtual soft keys. It's just that old Google Market icon that sticks out like a sore one. SERVICE MANUAL: Not very colourful but this service manual blueprint and spec sheet looks right on the money. Well, the watermark sells it. BEST GRAINY SHOT AWARD: The accuracy of this one seems decent - the home key, the screen measurement working out as an expected 4.8 inches - but it's the pure, old school, grainy nature of this leaked shot that we liked best. Proper rumour pic. CLOSE: Too close up to say much, but this shot is part of a pack that, according to the Pocket-lint news team, are the most realistic so far. More in a moment. CONCEPT 5: Super-slick and executive chic, if only it would end up looking like this vision from NAK Studio. CONCEPT 6: Sensible, minimal, sheer but just to Bauhaus for Samsung, sadly. PRODUCT SHOT?: The other part of the image just two before, could this product shot be the one we see in store? THE LATEST: Less like the Galaxy Nexus and more the SGSII with a silver home button, these leaked shots on Sammobile herald the calm before the storm. Stay tuned to Pocket-lint on 3 May. CONCEPT 7: Based on the leaked user manual LEAKED: A screen protector show how big the screen will be compared to other phones on the market.
