How good is that idea you've got knocking about in the back of your mind? That's what Cisco wants to know, with the creation of the Cisco British Innovation Gateway Awards looking for the best ideas the UK has to offer.
The BIG Awards aims to recognise and support up-and-coming innovators, entrepreneurs and early-stage startup businesses.
Cisco is seeking submissions from small businesses and early stage startups, which have technology-based prototypes and proof of concepts in development.
If you win you'll get access to the full array of Cisco capabilities from technology to business development, plus potential investment and partnering opportunities in the future.
To participate, all you have to do is simply register on the BIG Awards site and submit your BIG idea - it really is that easy.
There are five categories in which to submit your idea: Big Data, Collaboration, Future Cities, Internet of Things, Mobility. Ideas must be in by the end of the month (closing date is 1 May).
Once all the entries are received, Cisco will then start picking the best ones with the top 20 ideas will be picked for the Semi-finals, before the final six ideas will proceed to the finals.
Three ideas will receive grand prizes valuing over $250,000.
Open to UK-registered organisations, companies and UK residents aged 18 years or older.
The winner will receive a range of support aimed at accelerating the potential of their idea, product or initiative. This will be in the form of financial assistance, expertise and mentoring. The team will also win the following:
- $100,000 US in cash
- 12 months of technology and business mentoring from leading Cisco engineers and managers
- $30,000 US in 12 month Digital Marketing support from dnx which includes things like social media training.
