Toshiba has unveiled three Android tablets, each with varying dimensions.

The three devices are part of Toshiba’s Excite range with customers being able to choose between a 13.3-inch display, 10.1-inch and even a 7.7-inch.

Though all three devices run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, boast NVIDIA Tegra 3 processors and feature a five-megapixel camera on the back and two-megapixel front-facing snapper, each has its own characteristics to make it stand out from the rest.

Toshiba Excite 13

We knew it was a possibility after getting hands-on with a conceptual version of the device at the Toshiba Conference 2012, but now it's very much the real deal.

Despite its large screen, the Toshiba Excite 13 is only 10.2mm thick and offers up to 13 hours of battery life.

There’s both a Micro-USB and a Micro-HDMI port, so if you need an even bigger display you’ll be able to hook it up to your widescreen HD TV.

Yet at 13-inches this tablet should cater for heavy gamers and internet surfers, while movies will be bolstered by the 16:9 aspect ratio and 1600 x 900 resolution.

Toshiba Excite 10

With 10-finger multi-touch support you’ll be able to make the most of all your digits while browsing, playing with apps or simply stroking the 10.1-inch LED backlit 1280 x 800 resolution display in an affectionate manner.

Just short of 9mm thick and 600 grams in weight, the Toshiba Excite 10 is definitely a portable device and with a battery life of 10 hours, you shouldn’t get caught short either.

Again there’s Micro-USB and Micro-HDMI support should you wish to connect your tablet to another device.

Toshiba Excite 7.7

Just about small enough to fit in a jacket pocket (though you may want to be careful it’s not an advertisement to potential thieves), the Excite 7.7 offers the same processing power as its larger siblings but with an AMOLED display.

Personally, we like our tablet displays to have a bit more scope, but if you want a device that can be easily tucked away in a bag but offers more manoeuvre than your smartphone then this tablet should fit the bill.

Besides you’ll be able to hook it up to a larger screen should you need to though it's worth considering that though smaller, the Toshiba Excite 7.7 is actually more expensive than the Excite 10

Pricing and availability

There’s no word on UK pricing yet but the Toshiba Excite 13 16GB model will be available at the beginning of June for $649.99 and $749.99 for the 64GB model

The Toshiba Excite 10 will be available in May, with the 16GB variant costing $449.99 and the 32GB $529.99.

Finally the Toshiba Excite 7.7 will be sold for $499.99 for the 16GB model and $579.99 for the 32GB model, both from early June.

Toshiba had promised to tackle the tablet market aggressively this year so expect these three devices to be the first of many, with non-Android devices also rumoured to be in the pipeline.
