HTC EVO 4G LTE US bound, but not UK

Damn those Americans. They get all the good stuff.

Not content with Disneyland and oversized burgers, HTC has unveiled its latest member of the EVO series, the HTC EVO 4G LTE, and it’s only coming to the US.

The smartphone that packs a domineering 4.7-inch HD display will be available exclusively from Sprint for $199.99, despite the US network not currently having LTE capabilities.

However, as the phone won’t be out until the summer we assume this will give Sprint time to get its house in order.

HTC is championing its eight-megapixel camera guaranteeing high-quality pics no matter what environment you find yourself in. You’ll also be able to practise your John Wayne impression with HTC’s promise that the phone offers a super-speedy pocket to shooting time.

We say practise, but with no plans for the HTC EVO 4G LTE to arrive this side of the Atlantic (not that the UK has its own 4G network anyway), we’ll just have to marvel at the Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, HD voice capabilities all from afar.

Still, at least the HTC One X goes on sale today.
