OLPC sued for patent infringement
Nigerian company accuses foundation of stealing keyboard design

Ade Oyegbola, founder and CEO of Nigerian-based Lagos Analysis Corp has filed a lawsuit against the OLPC foundation for allegedly stealing his multilingual keyboard design.
The keyboard, called the "Konyin", apparently encompasses punctuation marks used in many Nigerian languages and has been patented by Lagos Analysis Corp in Nigeria.
Oyegbola alleges that the OLPC inventor Nicholas Negroponte bought two of the keyboards in question 2006, but promised he would not reverse engineer them. The keyboard's source code has since been made public, another point Oyegbola is unhappy about.
Lagos Analysis Corp plans to also sue the foundation in the States for copyright violation, unless it is paid royalties for the use of the keyboard design.
