With 5000:1 contrast ratio

LG Electronics has launched the L227WT, a high-end, design-focused 22-inch widescreen monitor, equipped with an industry leading Digital Fine Contrast ratio (DFC) of 5000:1.

Powered by LG's picture enhancing chipset, F-Engine, the L227WT has a "Movie Mode" that offers a contrast ratio 5000:1 and offers a grey to grey response time of 2m/s that LG says virtually removes all traces of ghosting, blurring or tearing.

Dennis Yeo, Group Product Manager, LG Electronics, says, "The L227WT brings elegant style and the very latest in design to the 5000:1 range. Not only do we want to offer our customers the very best viewing experience, but we also want to give them choice. By developing an extensive entry level through to premium range of 5000:1 monitors from entry level through to premium, they are getting just that".

The L227WT's design incorporates a thin bezel and a gloss-black finish and is operated by a touch sensitive circular power button.

Pricing is still to be confirmed.
