Amazon's Kindle for iPad app has been updated, bringing with it a new interface and new features.

Most important for new iPad owners, the new Amazon Kindle app adds support for the new Retina Display on the new iPad so users can enjoy their ebooks in the same quality available to iBooks owners.

The app also includes a new library design that will let you view your content in a way that is more in keeping with the Kindle Fire interface, and a new interface option for iPhone users that allows them to see their books in grid view.

There is also a new Cloud view that lets you access all of your content in the cloud in a simple, combined view.

The Amazon Kindle for iPad app is one of many apps that are being updated ready for the launch of the new iPad on Thursday.

If you've got an iPad you'll have noticed that every time you turn your Apple tablet on there are yet more apps to update.

Other apps getting updates in the last couple of days include Evernote and Tweetbot.
