Challenge Vodafone with super fast connection offering

Orange is to challenge Vodafone with a new HSDPA 7.2 Mbps modem Pocket-lint has learnt.

The announcement, which is due to go out in the next couple of days, will see the operator launch a USB stick modem that will allow users to easily connect to the internet will be designed for consumers rather than businesses.

Simply called "Internet Everywhere" the unit, which will be available in the UK in January, will work with both a Mac and a PC require minimal setup and offer, where possible, super fast connection speeds.

Made by Options in China rather than popular modem manufacturer Huawei, the device won't however let users connect to a VPN like the current business offering.

Pricing has yet to be decided in the UK.
