MySpace launches "Impact" channel for charities and causes

Social networking gets a conscience

27 November 2007 17:09 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

MySpace has announced a brand new channel dedicated to charities and social causes.

Called MySpace Impact, users can now connect with the issues and causes they support and "make a difference in the world around them".

There will be options to start brand new campaigns, volunteering time, spreading positive word of mouth or raising money for chosen causes through MySpace user's personal profiles.

In turn, charities can set up and customise their own profile page with news, videos, fundraising tools and other campaign resources such as call-to-action alerts for volunteers.

Users will also be able to download a widget to their page linking to Justgiving, allowing them to collect money for their chosen cause.
