Watchmaker TAG Heuer has announced it is to team up with French design house Modelabs to produce its own-branded range of mobile phones.

Modelabs currently produce a whole range of branded phones for various "names" including Levi Strauss and Hummer.

Aiming its entrance at the same level as fashion manufacturers turned phone designers like Armani and Prada, TAG has said the handsets will be as "contemporary" and "technological" as its watches while also being "timeless".

The first phone from the range is expected to be available to consumers in the first half of 2008.
