Toshiba beds with WildTangent for Android game store on AT200 tablet
WildTangent, the company that provides games portal applications for Windows and Android, has partnered with Toshiba to provide the Japanese manufacturer's games store for its AT200 tablet in Europe.
Available through Toshiba Places, the service will provide the opportunity for AT200 owners not only to purchase games, but also to rent them through a robust pay-per-play model. Each app will be able to be played free the first time you spark it up, then you can pay as little as 9p a session for each subsequent play. Of course, you can also buy the game outright at normal market rates too.
Popular games, such as Fruit Ninja, are to be carried and there will be no obligation to buy a title once you are finished.
The service is now also available for the Toshiba AT100 tablet too.
"Toshiba is one of the leaders in technology and its new AT200, the world’s lightest and thinnest 10.1-inch tablet, will be perfect for game players," says Sean Vanderdasson, WildTangent's senior vice-president.
"Our rapidly growing, curated games service has the most popular games and, without question, provides the ultimate choice for consumers to play games, whether it’s playing for free, renting or buying games. We look forward to providing Toshiba’s AT200 owners in Europe with great games in a simple to use, safe, affordable games service."
The Toshiba AT200 tablet is available in the UK now from retailers such as Amazon and Carphone Warehouse.
