US Samsung Galaxy Note ad uses The Darkness to mock Apple (video)

Justin Hawkins from UK rock outfit The Darkness appears in Samsung USA's new advert for the Galaxy Note, which was debuted during Super Bowl XLVI last night (5 February). And it cheekily slams Apple while using the band's biggest hit, "I Believe in a Thing Called Love".

Starting out with glum, tired people supposedly queuing for the latest iDevice, they all break out of their sombre moods when Hawkins launches into his trademark wailing. And as the advert grows, the sillyness increases.

The one-and-a-half-minute commercial was directed by Bobby Farrelly, one half of the infamous brotherly duo behind such comedies as Dumb & Dumber, Kingpin, There's Something About Mary and Shallow Hal, and while it refrains from any gross-out moments, it certainly shares some of the over-the-top properties that make them so great.

And we love the pay off at the end.
