Tech PR in the UK turned out in force for the Pocket-lint Gadget Awards 2007 last night to collect their prizes rewarding companies for the best products of 2007.Winner of coveted Best Gadget of the Year award and set to become the hottest piece of kit for any stocking this Christmas is the Nintendo Wii. A sign of its greatness, the Wii was the only gadget in all the categories to receive full marks from all the judges – a sure sign if any for shoppers to snap up the popular console, particularly in light of current rumours that games giant Nintendo is running dangerously low on stock for Christmas.
Proving that gadgets can live up to their media hype, the Apple iPhone impressed the savvy judges and was duly crowned Best Smartphone, streets ahead of its nearest rival the BlackBerry 8310.
The most surprising result of all however, was that little known brand Archos knocked heavyweight Apple off the top spot by trouncing its iPod touch to the title of Best MP3 Player with the Archos 605 Wi-Fi. Challenger in-car gadget brand Navman also managed to finally release rival TomTom’s 3-year grip on Best Satnav with the hugely improved Navman S90i.
Here are the Pictures. A video of the antics will be in next weeks Megawhat.tv Audio, Biz, Car And GPS, Dad, Gadgets, Gaming, GeekBooTeek, Hardware, Home Cinema, Phones, Cameras, Software, Sports Fitness, Pocket-lint Awards, Photos
