Apple has posted its fiscal 2012 first quarter results, including how many iPhones, iPads and Macs it sold in the 14 week period ending 31 December 2011, and Pocket-lint has worked out some rather interesting and staggering statistics.
As the company sold 37.04 million iPhones in that time, we have crunched some numbers and can reveal that, therefore, the Cupertino giant sold over four of the devices per second worldwide. That equates to over 262 iPhones (4S, 4 and older) sold per minute.
It also sold 15.43 million iPads; over 109 per minute globally, 1.8 per minute. And 5.2 million Macs were shifted; almost 37 per minute, 0.6 of them a second.
The company's profit of $13.06 billion over the period means it made $1,542.42 every second of the 14 weeks. Crikey!
