Super high-res

Electronic books are in the news again with reports that Amazon may launch their "Kindle" e-book reader on Monday, so this is some particularly relevant future-tech news from the Far East.

A new electronic paper display from Seiko Epson manages a 1600 x 1200 resolution into a 6.7-inch diagonal screen.

Perfect for use in electronic book readers, the flat panel measures in at just 3mm thick, and can display 1400 pages on a single button-cell battery.

No actual product have been announced that will boast this new display technology, but those hoping for e-books to become a mainstream tech have something to look forward to.
