New Sony Ericsson Walkman phone recalled by Orange

Faulty handsets not answering calls

14 November 2007 10:45 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

We're getting reports that the Sony Ericsson W910i Walkman phones are all being recalled by Orange.

Apparently the phone function is somehow causing the device to switch off after 10 seconds and it's also not answering calls.

The reports even suggest that some people who are returning them are getting exchanges, which suffer the same fault.

Sony Ericsson and Orange have made a joint statement about the matter to Pocket-lint:

"Sony Ericsson and Orange recognised an early problem with a small number of W910i's which prompted a recall of the first batch of product from Orange stores."

"This issue has now been fixed and the W910i is selling well in Orange Retail."
