Sesame Street comes to TomTom, with Bert and Ernie voices

Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie are the latest custom voices TomTom has added to its in-car navigation systems. Developed in association with Sesame Workshop and Locutio Voice Technologies, the add-on is available for £7.95 as a downloadable audio pack.

The duo add a sense of silly fun to the satnav and join such luminaries as Brian Blessed, Darth Vader, C3PO and Jeremy Clarkson as those who've officially loaned their voices to the device. However, the latter was subsequently banned due to licensing issues with the BBC, although Top Gear edition TomTom Go Lives are still available to buy in limited quantities exclusively from Halfords.

We're also pretty sure that neither Bert nor Ernie will have particularly strong views on gypsies or truckers, climbed Mount Everest, or massacred an entire generation of Jedis. As for C3PO? Well...

Bert and Ernie are available for TomTom now.
