Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, silence the pianos and with muffled drum, bring out the Nexus S for some Ice Cream Sandwich fun.

Yep, you read that right. No, not that Pocket-lint loves its Auden - but that there's a Nexus S out there rocking the next iteration of Android, aka Ice Cream Sandwich.

This is the sort of freak of nature that only eBay can throw up. The story goes that a chap in the States bought himself a Nexus S on the auction site packing the new OS and not Gingerbread as expected. Oh-er indeed.

As you can see from Engadget's video, things look a little different in ICS-land. For starters, there's now four shortcuts at the bottom and a new Google Apps button. Plus, the camera has had a fair bit of tweaking too. But don't just take our word for it, take a look at the video for yourself, you lazy so and so.

Of course, it could all be a clever fake based on a custom ROM but the baseband, kernel and build look legit - and there's been a lot of effort put into it if it is, as we say in Essex, "moody".

With Samsung expected to unveil the Google Nexus Prime on 11 October, we won't have long to wait to see if it is the real-deal.
