Nikon wants to jump on the Apple-cart it seems, with the release of the Nikon Coolpix S1200pj - a pico-projector packing camera with full support for iOS devices.
The projector in question is a 20 lumens one, packing DLP technology that offers an "instant connection" to your iPhone or iPad. You can also hook it up to your Mac or PC to create your own makeshift cinema.
The images or video you beam will be 26 to 152cm in size and the controls light up so you can even operate it in the dark.
On the camera side, it packs a 14-megapixel CCD image sensor, can shoot 720p HD video with stereo sound, boasts a Nikkor wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens. There's a plethora of anti-blur options on board and a range of filter effects that can be added to stills, even after the snap has been taken.
Out on 22 September, The Coolpix S1200pj comes in two colours; black and pink, and will cost a penny shy of £400.
