Grand Theft Auto, the car thieving, crime ridden funfair of a gaming classic has decided to grace the Mac App Store with its presence.

Nearly all the PS2 favourites are set to arrive on the Mac. This means GTA3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas. Unfortunately you won't be able to go and download all three straight away however, with Rockstar planning on releasing each title individually at staggered dates.

First up is GTA 3, which goes live today. Then Vice City on the 25 August and finally San Andreas on 1 September. Plenty of time in between to complete each three then, provided you don't leave home for a few weeks.

GTA 3 is currently downloading onto our MacBook Air so no time as of yet to test out how well things run. Comments however point to a good port and a smoothly running game.

About time Mac gamers got some proper classics to get their teeth stuck into. Also a good chance to give the games that started it all another play through, at least while we wait for GTA 5.
