Virgin Media is pumping up the volume ahead of the V Festival weekend with the release of a dedicated app on its TiVo boxes.
Designed to sit alongside the V coverage that Channel 4 will be offering up, the app will give non-V goers the chance to see extra footage such as interviews and backstage action.
In advance of the Festival kicking off on 20 August, the app will be a showcase of classic V performances of the past from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Snow Patrol and The Proclaimers.
There will also be a show on the Friday before the action kicks off where Keith Lemon will give app watchers the chance to win some festival tickets.
Aleks Habdank, director of digital entertainment products at Virgin Media, said: "V Festival is one of the leading music events in the UK and TiVo gives us a fantastic way to bring this great festival to customers’ front rooms, demonstrating the power of our great new interactive digital entertainment service.
"The app will allow TiVo customers to enjoy some of the best bits from past years as well as the latest news and behind the scenes from this year’s event, and is perfect for armchair revellers wanting to get into the spirit of the weekend from the comfort of their homes."
The V Festival is at two sites: Chelmsford and Stafford, and runs on the weekend of the 20th and 21 August.
