APP OF THE DAY: V Festival 2011 review (Android)
Wellies at the ready people - it's a festival weekend and rain is forecast. And whilst the V Festival, which kicks off in Chelmsford and Stafford on Saturday, may have the odd shower playing havoc with your latest TOWIE hairstyle, you can still stay organised thanks to the official festival app.
V Festival 2011 (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Ovi)
Olly Murs aside, the V Festival looks all set to be oodles of fun. But there's nothing fun with drinking one too many shandies, losing your group of mates and walking around the festival site on your own.
But the official app of the Virgin Media sponsored festival takes care of your location problems by not only providing a detailed map showing you where all the bars and stages are, but one that lets you pinpoint your buddies using the Facebook powered friend finder tool.
You can also put a marker down where your tent and you car are positioned as well, so you can spend more time watching the bands you love rather than worrying about how you're going to find your way back.
There's also the usual festival app ingredients such as band info, stage line-ups (no times showing yet though - boo) and the plethora of social networking options such as Twitter and Facebook integration.
Nokia users (for once) will have the upper hand on their iPhone and Android buddies as well with exclusive features.
These include a personalised line-up schedule from all the stages with a clashfinder, Nokia Action Cam to share photos on Facebook.
If you download the app, you won't have to worry too much about eating into your data allowance either - Virgin Media will be installing free Wi-Fi hotspots across both V Festival sites.
Lovely stuff - enjoy the festival if you're going.
