With integrated power supply

We brought you news only last week that Sony were planning a new PlayStation 2 model due for release next year, and this certainly looks like it could be it.

Just launched in Japan, the new Sony PS2 SCPH-90000 will go on sale on November 22nd for 16,000 yen, around £65, which would fit with the $99 price tag that was rumoured, although it has kept the same price-point as the previous model in Japan.

The new model comes in white, silver and black and now has the added extra option of a vertical stand for an additional 1500 yen.

The measurements of the new PS2 are 230 x 28 x 152mm and the weight is 720g, which are the same dimensions are the current model, but lighter.

It does boast the integrated, now internal, power supply that was talked up in the rumours, but other than that there seem no differences. Makes the PSP Slim and Lite tweak look like a complete revamp.
