Strong competitor to be on same network as iPhone

Announced only today, we think that one of the strongest iPhone rivals in the UK will be offered on the same network as Apple's mobile.

It's RIM's BlackBerry Pearl 8120 that we've chosen to highlight as today's "iPhone Killer" as we believe the strong feature set, and consumer appeal will make this a very popular handset indeed.

Offered in a more funky blue rather than RIM's more professional black models, the 8120 is the smartphone company's second version of the consumer-focussed Pearl.

As well as all the productivity and connectivity you'd expect from a BlackBerry, this also offers Wi-Fi, 2-megapixel camera with video capture, a multimedia player and a microSD card slot.

The best news of all - is that the handset will be "from free" on select tariffs on O2...
