Asda continues its ultra value for money approach to technology with a super cheap 40 inch TV, retailing at just £299.

The Luxor TV includes a built in Freeview tuner and amazingly Full HD 1080p output, something usually reserved for slightly more expensive televisions.

Connection-wise, expect a pair of HDMI sockets, a pair of scart sockets and not much else (except power to make it go).

Nicam stereo sound adds to the package, which whilst not necessarily the best in audio, is still pretty decent given the entire 40 inch setup costs less than £300.

The Luxor itself is an Asda exclusive and a welcome addition to the supermarket's growing value for money technology range.

Sure it might not be the best quality, but a 40 inch 1080p television is a 40 inch 1080p television whatever way you look at it. For £299 we can't think of a better way to whack on the Transformers Blu-ray and enjoy all that value for money big screen Megan Fox action.
