With Xoom 2 rumours still fresh from the speculation oven it looks like things are about to get even more exciting in the Motorola tablet camp.

Fudzilla is reporting a 10 inch slate with a 2048x536 resolution, something likely only Nvidia's quad-core Kal-el processor could manage.

The super high resolution tablet is apparently already in the hands of testers and could be out before the end of this year. Given Motorola's close partnership with Nvidia we could see it as the platform used to launch its new more powerful processor.

The new tablet will use a 4:3 format for its display and is thinner and lighter than the current Xoom. Crucially it is going to be Ice Cream Sandwich powered, meaning all the latest Google bells and whistles. As of now we unfortunately don't have a name for the device and only a suggested late 2011/early 2012 release date.

Whatever becomes of the new Motorola tablet, it looks like it could be the first into the quad-core battle.

XOOM 3? Quad core? Things getting a bit too powerful?
