Soundfreaq has announced the follow up to last year's Sound Platform (a Pocket-lint hot product) - the Sound Step Recharge.
Taking its design inspiration from its older brother, the Sound Step Recharge is a smaller standalone speaker option than Soundfreaq's original, but throws in a 2.1 speaker system thanks to a dedicated sub-woofer.
As you've probably gauged from the name, the Step also features portability with a rechargeable battery that will give you six hours playback from a full-charge.
Soundfreaq has built on the connectivity options as well, meaning that not only can you play any device that is Bluetooth compatible, you can also dock both an iPhone and an iPad (and a iPod touch too, of course) and there is also Aux-in as well.
It will also charge your iPad, which fanboys know is a very welcome addition, and the docking is stable even with a case on your iDevice thanks to the stickle-brick like adapters that can be removed and put into place depending on your circumstance.
There's a USB option too, although this isn't for direct playing, but offers charging for devices - handy if you're a non Apple toy owner and want to play back tunes through Bluetooth and need to charge at the same time. Finally, there's composite video out for watching your iDevice's content through your big screen.
Priced at £149.99, the Soundfreaq Sound Step Recharge is available from HMV.
