Windows Phone 7 Tango, the follow up to Mango?

Windows Phone 7 Mango isn’t even out yet, but that hasn't stopped people touting the next codenamed version of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 operating system.

According to sources, it will be know as Tango - as in the dance, not the drink.

Since the launch of the mobile OS in October 2010, the company has enjoyed calling it’s next versions things that end in “o”.

First there was NoDo (short for No Donuts), then there was Mango (that’s due out later this year), and now it seems the WP7 update we’ll be talking about in 2012 will be Tango.

Sadly we don’t have any further information on when it will launch, what features it will have, or whether it will involve the phone responding to you dancing thanks to Kinect support (a wild guess).

Either way, you can be sure we’ll do our best to keep you up to date with all the latest news as it happens.

In the meantime, why don’t you check out our extensive Windows Phone 7 Mango preview.
