Xbox 360 interface gets overhaul, adds Bing, more voice control
Microsoft has confirmed that it will be updating it’s Xbox interface to fit in with its Windows Phone 7 interface later in the year.
The new interface will be broken down into videos, games, music, and apps as well as offer Bing voice search via your Xbox 360.
The company is hoping that with the Kinect sensor you’ll be able to talk to your console rather than navigate through menus.
Asking for “X-Men” for example will give you results not just from the web, but content within the Xbox Live store like movies, TV shows and games.
As rumoured, Xbox will also be getting Live TV, allowing users to watch Sky TV, for example, all controlled via your voice, as well as the ability to access YouTube videos - a first for the console.
Bing on Xbox will initially be available in English in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom, and we’re committed to bring voice search to as many languages and dialects as possible in the future Microsoft has said.
“This is our vision for the future of television,” said Microsoft.
The new Xbox experience launches this fall.
