Fandroids disappointed with the lack of NFC capabilities in the, otherwise excellent, Samsung Galaxy S II are in for a treat as Samsung has confirmed that a NFC version will be coming to the UK.
Mobot quoted a Samsung online support staffer as saying: "Regarding your query, kindly note we have received a confirmation that the Near Field Communication ‘NFC’ version of the Galaxy S II should be available in the UK by June 2011."
However, the June date may be a bit early. Tech Radar has spoken to Samsung's office who stated that: "Samsung Mobile UK can confirm an NFC version of the Galaxy S II will be launch later this year, to support the roll out of our network partners' NFC services."
Its report also states that there is no news as to whether the NFC inclusion would increase the price of the Gingerbread handset.
