Apple field testing iOS 5 with Apple staffers favourite apps

With WWDC just around the corner Apple appears to be testing its latest iOS, iOS 5 in the wild.

How do we know this gem of information? Well according to developer FutureTap, it’s just received a crash report from a device running one of their apps on an iOS 5 device after presumably their app crashed on a phone running iOS 5.

It means that Apple is currently field-testing their next-generation mobile operating system that runs on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with applications from the iOS App Store.

According to 9to5mac.com who have been sent the details, “The application apparently crashed in iOS 5 due to the MKUserLocationBreadCrumb. Developer Will Strafach (Chronic) let us know that this API relates to the iOS maps and location functionality.”

Why it crashed is anyone’s guess, but it does mean that come June Apple should have plenty to tell about what’s next for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod OS when it hopefully debuts later in the year probably in time for an iPhone 5 launch expected in September.

We will keep you posted.
