Maplin says it's "pushing the boundaries of dual digital technology" by launching its new high definition (720p) digital video camcorder with 8-megapixel still camera.
The camcorder will cost £199, which the cut-price retailer says, considering the device's slimline design, "exceptional" video and picture quality, and integrated microphone and speaker, makes it "a snip".
The new offering boasts a 2.4-inch TFT LCD, compatibility with SDHC cards, 4x digital zoom, red eye reduction and flash for still pics, as well as TV hook-up for big screen viewing.
The new HD DV Camcorder (product code: A47HJ) is available from Maplin at its stores, online or by mail order from the Maplin catalogue.
