Another random birthday, another Google Doodle - this time in honour of the great escapologist Harry Houdini, who would have been 137 years old today had he figured out how to escape the chains of mortality.
The Hungarian born performer, real name Erik Weisz, was born on 24 March 1874 and earned legendary status with his great escape tricks including the milk-can escape, the Chinese water torture cell and, perhaps the most famous of them all, the buried alive stunt.
Houdini died on 31 October 1926, aged 52, when an attempt to show that he could take any blows above the abdomen without pain went wrong. He'd apparently been suffering from appendicitis in the week leading up to his death and he died of a ruptured appendix.
So that's 18 new Google Doodles just in the month of March - Google clearly has got too much time on its hands.
