It's hardly a big surprise but Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 over in Orlando at CTIA which, along with its 10.1 brother, its makers state is the thinnest mobile tablet at just 8.6mm skinny.
The Honeycomb tablet (with TouchWiz on top) weighs in at 470g and has a 1280x800 WXGA display (the screen size is 8.9-inches, but we're guessing you knew that).
It has a 1GHz dual core processor, and packs in a 3-megapixel camera out the back and a 2-megapixel on the front for video calling. It can playback 1080p video, and record 720p.
Connectivity is via USB, Wi-Fi, HSPA+ (21Mbps) and Bluetooth 3.0. On board storage is either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB and there's also a microSD option for expanding that if needs be.
"The Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 are remarkable examples of Samsung's constant innovation and show our dedication to designing premium tablets that fit the unique needs of consumers around the world", said JK Shin, president and head of Samsung's Mobile Communications Business.
"By combining Samsung's innovations in design and display with our exciting new user experience, we've created a new class of products that will lead the tablet market."
No release details as of yet but, as ever, we'll keep you posted.
