T-Mobile has announced the launch of the Sidekick Slide in the UK today on its Web'n'walk Tariff.

The new model, which is 25% smaller than the previous sidekick will be made by Motorola rather than Sharp and feature a screen that slides rather than swivels out to reveal a QWERTY keyboard.

The new T-Mobile Sidekick Slide will be available from November to purchase from T-Mobile stores and online at www.t-mobile.co.uk. The device is from free when purchased on the Flext 30 plus Web'n'walk tariff.

The model will offer quad-band connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot for external storage up to 4GB, Bluetooth and support for instant messaging applications.

“The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide is the ultimate handset for people who want the freedom to email or IM mates, update their profile on Facebook or to surf the Internet the way they like”, Daniel Meredith, head of handset and device Marketing for T-Mobile UK said in a statement.

The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide handset also comes with a music player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA files.

We will be posting a review of the new device on Pocket-lint in the next few days.
