The Super Mario Bros. film that was made in 1993 and stars Bob Hoskins has a score of 3.8 on IMDB.

And that's because it's an absolute horror-show for your peepers, a perfect example of how not to make a movie of a video game.

And whilst Joe Nicolosi's effort, as shown as a bumper at SXSW, isn't exactly in-line with the video game to movie formula (it's very drugs heavy) - it is a darn sight better than the Hollywood abomination.

Think of it as Super Mario Bros meets Good Will Hunting, with a bit of Harold & Kumar Get the Munchies thrown in for stoner-based laughs.
