Samsung are about to launch a new entry-level rugged phone called the Samsung Solid, Pocket-lint has found out.Available from December, the new phone, which we've played with and have since managed to obtain press shots of, will come in black, feature rubber keys and have a rugged protective case to protect it from knocks and bumps.
Roughly the size of the Sony Ericsson W810 Walkman phone, the new model will be geared to users who find themselves looking for a tougher than average phone.
All though its ruggedness isn't officially recognised, the phone will be able to withstand a drop of around 1 metre we've been told.
On the tech front details are sketchy, but we do know the phone will feature Bluetooth.
However, those looking for a "rich" multimedia experience will probably be disappointed. The Solid will only feature a VGA camera and 64k colour screen.
Priced around £70 it will be available on Orange in December. Phones, Mobile phones, Samsung
