RIM signs Omniphone deal for UK BlackBerrys

All-you-can-eat MusicStation coming in November

Reuters is reporting that RIM's BlackBerry will come with the cheap, unlimited music service from Omniphone from next month, for the first time.

The move is seen to counter the competition from Apple's iPhone, Sony Ericsson's Walkman-branded handsets and even Nokia's forthcoming music services.

Rob Lewis, CEO of British mobile music provider Omnifone, told Reuters his firm had signed a deal to supply the BlackBerry with unlimited tracks from their MusicStation service.

Omnifone, who has recently made a similar agreement with Vodafone for the £1.99 a week MusicStation offering, said service will launch in England in November for BlackBerry users to be followed by other region roll-outs.

A spokesperson for RIM did not comment to Reuters, or to Pocket-lint, saying they had "no information" about the plans at this stage.
